Prometazine with codeine is a combination of an antihistamine medication that relieves the allergy related symptoms including sneezing, runny nose, cough and itchy of the nasal/oral mucosa. Codeine is a narcotic drug with moderate antitussive (cough suppressant) properties that should be avoided in childrens (<6 years) due to a high risk of develop respiratory depression as with other narcotics. Never drink alcohol while taking Codeine. Its not recommended to take it for a longer period or in a higher dose than prescribed by your doctor. You should not use this medication if you have active asthma, COPD. Take codeine with food or milk if it upsets your stomach. Do not stop using codeine suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Get emergency medical help if you have twitching, or uncontrollable movements of your eyes, lips, tongue, face, arms, or legs; tremor (uncontrolled shaking), drooling, trouble swallowing, or problems with balance or walking.
